    The higher education department has issued strict guidelines to ensure proper implementation of the much-awaited 'Mo College Abhijan' - an initiative which aims to establish an alumni connect network across the state's colleges and universities for quality education and timely reforms.

    As part of the programme, the alumni will be invited to colleges for interaction with the students and faculties. They will share their stories so that students get inspired and motivated.

    The programe has been implemented in all state-run universities ,government and govt. aid colleges.

    It will also act as a platform for the alumni to offer their services on a voluntary basis for the betterment of the college ecosystem. "It is a one-of-a-kind programme that will be implemented across all colleges. An alumnus of any profession - be a doctor, a technocrat or an entrepreneur - can come and offer his/her services," a higher education department official said.

    To implement the programme in a proper manner, the higher education department has decided to form a Mo College Abhijan society, which will be headed by a chairperson appointed by the state government.
    Officials said Rs 2 crore would be initially spent from the allocated budget on the campaigning and branding of the programme. Later, the funding ratio would be based on a 1:2 proportion, in which the state government would contribute twice the donor's amount for the successful running of the abhijan.
    "The alumni play a pivotal role in the development of institutions. It is a tried and tested formula that is going to be implemented in the state in spirit. Besides sharing inspiring stories with the students and faculties, the alumni will also get the opportunity to contribute towards the betterment of their colleges or universities," the official added.
